NJADB Employee, Dotun OshowoluThe New Jersey Association of the Deaf-Blind, Inc. (NJADB) is proud to shine the Spotlight on one of our employees Dotun Osholowu.  He has been employed with our agency since 2006, first as a Switchboard Operator in the East Orange, NJ Veteran’s Hospital.  A year later he became a full time Sales Associate in our Company Store at the world headquarters of Merck, and has since been promoted to a new position as a Mail Clerk working in an IRS facility.


Dotun’s story is an inspiration to all.

NJADB Staff and Garden Club Members The New Jersey Association of the Deaf-Blind, Inc. in partnership with the Garden Club of New Jersey’s Neshanic Garden Club have begun a joint relationship to bring the joy, art, and skill of gardening to NJ residents who are deaf-blind.

New Jersey's First National Beep Baseball Association Team

The New Jersey Lightening, the first National Beep Baseball Association team of the state, has formed in Matawan, New Jersey. The team is comprised of visually impaired players who utilize the beeping softball and bases to play competitive baseball.

COAT: Coalition of Organizations for Accessible Technology

As technology advances around us, some organizations are joining together to make sure that those who have visual or hearing impairments are being given proper consideration. The Coalition of Organizations for Accessible Technology (COAT) was founded in 2007 to advocate for legislative and regulatory safeguards. This coalition strives to ensure that there is full access by people with disabilities to evolving technologies such as, though not limited to, high speed broadband and wireless connections.

Rubella and Congenital Rubella Syndrome

Just four decades ago our nation was struck by an epidemic like no other... Its target: unborn babies.

The Rubella virus, also known as the German Measles, is a mild viral infection. When contracted by children and adults it results in a skin a rash, blood shot eyes, muscle and joint pain, and in some more rare cases bruising can occur. There is no cure for the Rubella virus, but its symptoms only last for a few days (50% of cases go by unnoticed). However, this virus is not completely harmless…

Agency Picnic 2009

The New Jersey Association of the Deaf-Blind’s annual agency picnic was held Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at the Ivy League Day Camp in Manalapan, NJ. This event is one of the many recreation programs NJADB holds for its clients.
