Family Support Services

Family Support Services (FSS) provides assistance to families who are the primary caretaker of a person who is deaf and/or blind and developmentally disabled.  NJADB staff coordinate the resources needed to help families whose lifestyles are affected by these disabilities.

Self Directed Respite

This option provides the family flexibility to hire their own Respite Worker and act in place of NJADB as an employer in determining the training needs and hourly rate of the person providing support services.  Families are reimbursed for approved expenses on a monthly basis.

Resource Sharing

Each month, NJADB gathers and disseminates information regarding conferences, events, recreation activities, new programs and any other pertinent information to share with families who are the primary caregiver of a person with disabilities.

Eligibility
