How You Can Help

NJADB is looking for caring people throughout the state of New Jersey to join us on our mission to improve the quality of life of people who are deaf and/or blind. If you have an area of expertise you would like to share from arts and crafts to cooking to computers to construction, let us know and we will find the right fit for you.

• Direct Assistance to people with deaf-blindness

  Sighted Guide at Recreation Events Assist our clients with transportation and participation in many fun filled activities. Museums, Craft Nights, Day Trips to Atlantic City, Bowling, Coffee Socials and more!
  

  Community Access Assistant/Sighted Support Person

  Many people who are deaf-blind need assistance with transportation and sighted guide support for daily living needs such as clothing shopping, food shopping banking, trips to the barber or hair salon, etc. Others may need assistance with mail reading, bills, etc.
  

  Friendly Visitor

  As deaf-blindness can be very isolating, many people would just like a visitor to make a social call for friendly conversation. Maybe keep them up to date on what is happening in the news and in their community.
