Family Support Services (FSS) provides assistance to families who are the primary caretaker of a person who is deaf and/or blind and developmentally disabled. NJADB staff coordinate the resources and direct service support needed to help families whose lifestyles are affected by these disabilities.

Cash Option Respite

This option provides the family the flexibility to hire their own Respite Worker and act in place of NJADB as an employer in determining the training needs and hourly rate of the person providing support services.
Families are reimbursed for approved expenses on monthly basis, not to exceed $160.00 per month.


Wrap Around Funds

Emergency cash stipends are available to families in need of financial support to purchase necessary equipment or other household needs to ensure the health, safety and well being of a family member with disabilities.


Eligibility

To be eligible for our services, clients must be registered with the NJ Division of Developmental Disabilities.


Funding

NJADB contracts with the NJ Dvision of Developmental Disabilities to provide services.
